    Innovation at Bridgestone

    The brand has been the first to start selling rayon cord tyres with a five-year project to modernize production facilities. By 1959, they were selling nylon tyres and forged the construction of a new plant to cope with the rapidly expanding market.

    By 1967, they were selling their first radial tyre. The subsequent year saw Bridgestone tyres Shrewsbury being awarded the prestigious Deming Prize in 1968. In 1979, they introduced the high-performance POTENZA tyre. And the rest is history.

    In 1931, Shojiro Ishibashi founded Bridgestone Corporation, in Japan. By 2017, the company is one of the largest manufacturers of tyres in the world. They are backed by 181 production facilities in 24 countries and counting.
